daemon_novel_cover1Paramount Pictures is currently preparing an adaptation of Daniel Suarez’s 2006 tech novel Daemon, according to Variety.

The film will be written by Walter Parkes (of WarGames fame) and David DiGilio, while producing duties are in the hands of both Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. As of yet no director or cast has been attached to the project.

Daemon centres around a deceased computer game designer who managed to create a program capable of destroying mankind. Suarez’s novel was a huge hit and has all the right elements to be a big sci-fi hit on screens.
