Warner Bros have halted production on their follow-up to James Wan’s The Conjuring and its spooky doll spin-off Annabelle as a result of a lawsuit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros have been named in a lawsuit from Evergreen Media, who claim to have the sole rights to develop further properties based on “real” ghost-hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Originally, Evergreen licensed the Warren rights to Warner Bros to develop The Conjuring, and then licensed the TV rights separately to Lionsgate to develop a Conjuring TV show – an act which prompted earlier legal action from an aggrieved Warner Bros.
