Classic V stars to return for remake?

by James Rundle

Original series siren in talks for new series role.

season1cast8The new, modern update of V is still several months away from its November debut, but the buzz is continuing to build. Now Scott Peters, one of the producers on the show, has confirmed that a star from the original series has been in talks with the production to appear.

“Jane Badler has approached our producers and has been in touch here and there,”said Peters to Sci-Fi Wire at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California. “I haven’t had a chance to actually sit down or talk to anybody face to face, but I would love to.” Badler, of course, played the Visitor Diana in the original series, an enduring role that has many associating the show with the actress.

“It’s either [going to be] a really ironic role for them, based on what their old role was, or just something really fun or interesting,” Peters continued. “I want them to have fun doing it. I want the fans to be excited about it. And I think it’s just a fun thing to be able to tip your hat to the old show.”

V will air on ABC in the United States on 3 November 2009. The series stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Scott Wolff and Morena Baccarin.

V will actually be airing on ABC here in the States, not Syfy. :)

The pilot is great; can’t wait to see more!

Oops! Thanks for the correction. Quoting Sci-Fi Wire seems to have gotten me distracted.
