Chris Pine carries Carriers

In an alternate reality where Chris Pine wasn’t chosen to be captain of the USS Enterprise, this chiller about a particularly monstrous pandemic would still be collecting dust on a shelf somewhere in Hollywood. Happily, though, we live in a universe where Pine has been allowed to charm his way into Trek lore and as a consequence Carriers will finally hit the big screen.

Given a September release date, Carriers will no doubt benefit from the swine flu paranoia currently doing the rounds, but the original trailer, which you can view below, will also do nothing to harm the film’s chances of success. Looking surprisingly decent for what could have so easily been just another horror with good-looking people in it, consider us quite excited about seeing this one*.
