Blade Runner 2 adds another new cast member

One of the stars of NSFW comedy Wetlands has joined Blade Runner

Blade Runner 2 has turned into a rolling juggernaut, with cast members being confirmed left, right and centre. Now, we can add another name to the list in the form of Carla Juri, according to a report on Variety.

The Swiss actress won’t necessarily be too familiar to English-speaking audiences, with most of her roles coming in German/Swiss productions (the most recognisable being comedy Wetlands and the upcoming Craig Robinson-starring drama Morris From America, soon to premiere at Cannes Film Festival), but considering the acclaim she has received for her performances it will be nice to see her get some wider recognition.

The sequel will see Harrison Ford presumably reprising his role as Rick Deckard from the original (although considering his apparent status as a Replicant, the nature of his role is definitely up for debate), starring alongside Ryan Gosling (The Notebook, Drive), Robin Wright (The Princess Bride, House Of Cards, Forrest Gump), Ana de Armas (Knock Knock, War Dogs), Sylvia Hoeks (Deception, The Storm) and Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy, Spectre). Denis Villeneuve (Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario) will take on the director mantle, working from a script by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, with original director Ridley Scott producing alongside. Broderick Johnson, Andrew A Kosove, Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin producing.

The as-yet untitled Blade Runner sequel will be released in cinemas on 6 October 2017. For more news about the biggest movies, pick up the new issue of SciFiNow.
