“My hope is that we can use Batman at some point,” executive producer and Green Lantern screenwriter Marc Guggenheim told IGN. “That would be awesome. No question, that would be absolutely awesome. But I don’t know. That’s above my pay grade.”
Smallville historically had issues in getting the rights to the Dark Knight Detective, but now that Christopher Nolan‘s revolutionary run is at an end, Guggenheim is optimistic about a future crossover between the two billionaire vigilantes.
“I think that plagued the Smallville showrunners more than it plagues us,” continued Guggenheim, “because, obviously, The Dark Knight trilogy is over.”
