Anthony Hopkins joins Thor

Anthony Hopkins has entered negotiations to join the cast of Thor, according to Variety. The Oscar-winning actor is poised to play the part of the Norse god’s father, Odin, and if successful he will be starring alongside Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L Jackson and Natalie Portman in this superhero feature.

Previously, Brian Blessed was rumoured to be the man to play Odin. But with Hopkins now looking to feature in this patriarchal role, it seems that the seasoned British actor will not be featuring in Kenneth Branagh’s big budget comic book movie.
