The rumoured carnival setting for American Horror Story Season Four has been confirmed.

Speaking to the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast, writer Douglas Petrie answered a question about the fourth season being set in a carnival with “Very roughly, that’s the idea.”

THR reports that Murphy had already confirmed a 1950s setting for Jessica Lange’s final season on the Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s FX anthology horror show, which recently finished its third season ‘Coven.’

There haven’t been any casting announcements yet, although it’s safe to assume that the core group of repetory players will be returning. THR also points out that Murphy, Falchuk and some cast members will be appearing at Paley Fest on 28 March, where they unveiled the ‘Coven’ plotline last year.

American Horror Story will return to FX in October. You can buy American Horror Story: Season 1-2 on DVD for £34 at Amazon.co.uk.
