By now, fans of FX’s American Horror Story should be difficult to shock. But according to executive producer Ryan Murphy Season 5, Hotel, includes “the most disturbing scene [they’ve] ever done.”
The scene features American Horror Story newbie Max Greenfield (New Girl), who is at the centre of it. Speaking to TVLine, Murphy said: “He really pushed himself as an actor. I was proud of him…
“[Greenfield] plays an addict who checks into the hotel and tangles with Sarah Paulson. I said, ‘I have a feeling that you can and want to do something really fucked up.’ And he said, ‘How did you know?’
“So he cut off his beautiful hair and dyed it. And I think he lost 30 pounds. Yesterday, I talked to him and his waist I think is down to 27. So he’s really committed to it.”
American Horror Story Season 5 takes place in a spooky hotel owned by a “wealthy social doyenne” called Elizabeth (played by Lady Gaga), and will also star Darren Criss, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Cheyenne Jackson.
