The casting announcements for American Horror Story: Hotel has been coming in drips and drabs, and Ryan Murphy has tweeted that Kathy Bates will be returning for her third season of the anthology show.

Bates previously played unkillable racist murderer Madame Delphine DeLaurie in Coven, and bearded lady Ethel Darling in Freak Show. If she’s running the hotel, could she be stepping in the departed Jessica Lange’s shoes as the lead?
