Alien Covenant: Fassbender’s got his body back!

Looks like David is whole again in this pic from Alien Covenant

With filming currently underway on Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus, it looks as if we will be getting a steady stream of pictures ported live from the set, if the official Twitter account is anything to go by.

Last week we had Katherine Waterston channelling Signourney Weaver’s Ripley as she hid around some very Nostromo-esque corridors. Now, we have the below pic:

Yep, that’s Ridley Scott himself to the right. And to the left is Michael Fassbender, who is of course reprising his role as David. But hang on – he has his body? But how? Those of you who watched the first film will remember the sinister android having it ripped from his body by an irate Engineer, leaving it to be carried around by Noomi Rapace for the rest of the movie.

The question here, of course, is how does he get a new body? Maybe the crew of the Covenant get him a new one, or maybe he gets given it by some unknown third party? Whatever happens, we’re definitely intrigued.

For those of you who are unfamiliar (or have forgotten), the synopsis is as follows: “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.” In other words, expect the sinister android to fighting firmly against the side of the angels once again.

This far the cast includes  Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, Billy Crudup, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Callie Hernandez and Alexander England. Ridley Scott is directing a script penned by Michael Green, Jack Paglen and John Logan, with Mark Huffam, Walter Hill, David Giler and Michael Schaefer on producing duties.

Alien: Covenant will be released on 6 October 2017. You can download Alien: The Complete Manual from GreatDigitalMags.com now. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
