Agents Of SHIELD/Age Of Ultron crossover is totally happening

Coulson and the team will be affected by Ultron but probably not in a big way

Agents Of SHIELD producers have confirmed that the show will be crossing over into the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe again, this time with ties to Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

Executive producer Jed Whedon told Entertainment Weekly: “You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”

The last time Agents Of SHIELD attempted a crossover (with Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Hydra infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and all kinds of awful things happened. It was fully awesome, and gave the show the belated kick-start that it needed.

However, the Age Of Ultron crossover is unlikely to be quite as large-scale or dramatic. We’re probably looking more at the Thor: The Dark World “crossover” from the first half of Season 1, which saw Coulson and the team tidy up after Thor and Malekith’s battle in the 2013 movie. It was kind of rubbish.

Producer Maurissa Tancharoen said: “I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did. But there will be connections.”
