Long-rumoured but finally confirmed: Hayley Atwell will guest star as Agent Peggy Carter in Agents Of SHIELD Season 2.
EW reports that the second season premiere will feature Atwell’s Agent Carter, although it seems that the showrunners are keeping the details under wraps. We don’t know whether it will be flashbacks to the 1940s, or something similar to her appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
With Coulson left in charge of SHIELD following its dramatic implosion, we would place a small but not insignificant amount of money on Agent Carter providing some inspiration and a reminder of the values that SHIELD stood for before Hydra infiltrated it, as well as setting up the upcoming Agent Carter TV series.
Other new faces for Season 2 include the great Lucy Lawless as Agent Isabelle Hartley and Dollhouse‘s Reed Diamond.
