Agent Carter Season 2 casts Wet Hot American Summer star

The cast of Agent Carter Season 2 has just got that bit better

We haven’t exactly made a secret of the fact that we were massive fans of Agent Carter, and were delighted to see it renewed for a second season. While we were already excited about the prospect of new episodes, this bit of casting news has us even more so, with Variety confirming that Ken Marino has jumped aboard Season 2.

The star of hit shows like Eastbound And Down and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day At Camp, Marino will play mob boss Joseph Manfredi, who is described as a “volatile leader in the Maggia crime syndicate who will help Peggy Carter’s adversaries further their agenda.”

Is comic-book origins are a little bit less clear-cut. He started out life as costumed villain (and shameless Batman knock-off) Blackwing, joining the Masters of Evil and HYDRA while facing off against the likes of Captain America and Daredevil, before one defeat too many prompted him to turn back to being a crime lord. While we doubt that too much of this will make it into the series, don’t be surprised to see him get his hands dirty.

He joins a cast that already includes the returning Hayley Atwell, James D’Arcy, Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj, as well as newcomers Wynn Everett, Currie Graham, Lotte Verbeek, Reggie Austin and Kurtwood Smith.

Agent Carter: Season 2 will air in January 2016 on FOX in the UK. You can find out more about the characters and the comics that inspired them by picking up the latest edition of 100 All-Time Greatest Comics.
