Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four has found its Doctor Doom in Toby Kebbell.

Variety reports that the British character actor is Fox’s choice to bring villainy to the Fantastic Four, having beaten Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd, Anna Karenina) and Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire, American Hustle).

Despite Variety‘s assertion that Kebbell is a newcomer, you may recognise him from his breakout role in Shane Meadows’ Dead Man’s Shoes, or Control, RocknRolla, Wrath Of The Titans, War Horse, Prince Of Persia and The Sorceror’s Apprentice. He’ll also soon be seen in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes and Duncan Jones’ Warcraft.

He was also linked to the long-mooted live action Akira remake, being offered the role of Tetsuo, but turned the film down due to the changes that would be made to the original story.

Kebbell joins Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Michael B Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm.

The Fantastic Four is set to be released on 6 March 2015. You can buy Josh Trank’s Chronicle on Blu-ray for £9.75 at Amazon.co.uk and find out more about the comics that inspired the film with new digital magazine Uncanny Comics.
