Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson have been confirmed as starring in The Conjuring 2, set for release on 23 October 2015.
The two stars of James Wan’s summer smash hit had been assumed but not confirmed as returning in the sequel which will continue the story of real-life supernatural investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren.
Variety reports that New Line is currently looking for a director for the sequel, as James Wan previously declared he was done with the horror genre, at least for the time being. His horror abstinence also requires Insidious: Chapter 3 to find a new director, barring a sudden change of heart.
