ABC has confirmed that it is developing Marvel’s Agent Carter TV show for Hayley Atwell to star, and has hired former Joss Whedon collaborators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas as showrunners.
ScreenCrush reports that ABC President Paul Lee confirmed Atwell’s involvement, and stated that Captain America: The First Avenger screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely are working on a pilot script.
Butters and Fazekas previously worked on Whedon’s Dollhouse, and created the short-lived TV show Reaper.
No pilot order has been given yet, but it’s exciting to see that ABC are obviously moving ahead with Agent Carter.
