Insidious: Chapter 3 is moving ahead without director James Wan and has set a release date of 3 April 2015.
The announcement of the sequel was no surprise given the huge financial, if not critical success of Insidious: Chapter 2 (read our review here), and writer Leigh Whannell will be returning as both writer and star. Bloody Disgusting reports that it’s likely that Whannell, Angus Sampson and Lin Shaye will return as ghost hunters Specs, Tucker and Elise. There’s no word on Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne or Barbara Hershey coming back.
No director has been announced, and we’re assuming that Wan will stick to his previous intention of staying out of the horror genre for the forseeable future.
