Jason Voorhees has come home to Paramount in a deal with Warner Bros that brought the rights to the Friday The 13th character back to the studio, making a new sequel look likely.
Warner Bros gave up the rights to Friday The 13th and South Park to Paramount in order to get on board Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, which had been set up at the rival studio. According to Bloody Disgusting, the deal only entitles Paramount to five years with the character. Now that the rights are less complicated, a new sequel to Marcus Nispel’s 2009 Friday the 13th or a new film altogether looks much more probable. Chichichihahaha…
