Arrow Season 2 could get Green Lantern cameo

Arrow creators have “discussed” a cameo for Green Lantern’s Hal Jordan

Together they make one of the most celebrated odd couples in comics – Green Lantern’s socially conservative Hal Jordan and Green Arrow’s capitalist-toppling Oliver Queen first teamed up in 1970, and have been inseparable since.

Sadly, bringing the two together on screen in The CW’s Arrow is a lot more difficult, especially considering the contrasts in tone between the fan-favourite superhero drama and the Ryan Reynolds-starring joyless turkey.

There’s definitely a will for it, though, as two of the three creators of the show, Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, also wrote 2011’s Green Lantern.

“It’s certainly something that we’ve talked about,” Guggenheim told TV Guide.

“As with all DC characters, we have to figure out a way for those characters to fit within our Arrow universe. But when you consider the importance that Hal Jordan plays in the Green Arrow comics, it’s certainly one of those names that we’ve discussed a great deal.

“I have Ryan Reynolds’s phone number around here somewhere,” he added.

Arrow Season 2 will air Autumn on Sky 1. Pick up Green Lantern on DVD for £4.90, or on Blu-ray for £8 from Amazon.co.uk.
