Oscar-farmer and Moonrise Kingdom director Wes Anderson spoke to Deadline about how it would look were he picked to direct Star Wars: Episode 7 for Disney.
“Well I have a feeling I would probably ultimately get replaced on the film because I don’t’ know if I have all the right action chops,” mused Anderson. “But at least I know the characters from the old films.”
Expanding on his preferred storyline, he added, “I don’t think I would do a terrible job at a Han Solo backstory. I could do that pretty well. But maybe that would be better as a short.”
Perhaps not for Star Wars: Episode 7, but this could easily work as one of the spin-off films – perhaps even with Harrison Ford doing the wraparound footage as the older Han Solo, sort of like Ian Holm in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The complete Star Wars saga (so far!) is available on Blu-ray priced £56.79 from Amazon.co.uk.
