Almost everyone to see Avengers Assemble (read our review before it goes cold) has named Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk, mo-capped by Ruffalo and voiced by original TV mean green smashing machine Lou Ferrigno, the star of show. It’s no surprise, then, that Ruffalo has signed on for an incredible (lol) six movies, although it’s unclear how many of these will be solo flicks, and how many will be glorified cameos or Avengers sequels.

Speaking to Collider, Ruffalo said he planned to “try and get Joss Whedon in a room and work out what could be a Hulk movie, with Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios boss]’s blessing of course.”

Feige was originally lukewarm to the idea of more Hulk films, telling The Huffington Post, “This was the other shot. Right? I mean, this was the third appearance of Hulk and everything that we had and were going for, we put in to Hulk’s appearance in Avengers. So, I love that people are saying that and are feeling that way about Hulk, but mission accomplished at this point. And the way we go forward, we’ll see.”

Marvel’s President of Consumer Products, Paul Gitter meanwhile told business magazine Forbes, “His sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner,” adding that Marvel plans to “spin him off to a stand-alone program next year.”
