20,000 Leagues Under The Sea reboot goes ahead

Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea to film in Australia, Brad Pitt no longer involved

Richard Fleischer’s 1954 classic 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: Captain Nemo, David Fincher’s all-new adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic aquatic adventure is ready to go ahead, and it’s leaving previously attached star Brad Pitt behind.

Filming is looking to begin in Australia as soon as the filmmakers secure a 30% location rebate from the government, as the rising value of the Australian dollar compared to the US dollar has made the country far less attractive at the existing 16.5% rebate for foreign shoots than it was a decade ago.
