RIP Steve Moore (11 June 1949- 16 March 2014)

We’re sad to report that British comics legend Steve Moore, described by Watchmen creator Alan Moore (no relation) asĀ “a friend… fellow comic writer [and] a fellow occultist” passed away 16 March 2014, aged 64.

Moore was on the ground floor of a number of UK comic institutions, creating the Future Shocks anthology for 2000 AD, creating Axel Pressbutton for the short-lived but much loved Warrior, writing the earliest Doctor Who comic strips for Doctor Who Weekly – the precursor to the Doctor Who Magazine – and writing numerous stories for Marvel UK’s The Daredevils and Hulk Comic.

His long friendship with Alan Moore also turned into a fertile creative partnership, with the two collaborating on Tom Strong and the long talked aboutĀ The Moon And Serpent Bumper Book Of Magic.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
