NBC turn down Wonder Woman and pick up Grimm

DC’s warrior princess is snubbed by the network

The much pilloried pilot for Wonder Woman by David E Kelley has been rejected by NBC, Warner Bros could try and take it to other networks but most of them already rejected it in January. The series seemed blighted from the start by outpourings of negativity towards the title character’s costume and a leaked script.

Traci Thoms, who would have played Wonder Woman’s best friend Etta, commented, “I am very sad that NBC passed on Wonder Woman. But that just goes to show you: There is no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ in this biz.”

Fantasy cop drama Grimm, from Angel writer Jim Kouf and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer‘s David Greenwalt set in a world in which characters from Grimm’s fairy tales are real, however, was picked up by NBC. My Name Is Earl‘s Marc Buckland directed the pilot.
