Chuck steady against tough competition

by Samuel Roberts

Series increases its prospects for fourth season, with solid ratings

chuckChuck’s hopes for a fourth season are looking pretty strong, at this point.

Monday’s show was seen by 6.3 million people, according to Zap2It.com, which is down a little on previous weeks but still solid overall. Given NBC’s less-than-overwhelming season in other areas of its line-up, it’s looking like a strong bet for the 2010-11 line-up on the US network.

Creatively, Chuck has gone from strength to strength during the past two seasons, making excellent use of its guest stars, managing to stay funny every week and maintaining the positive rapport between its central characters. During a season where genuinely amusing shows are difficult to come by, it’s still a joy to tune in and watch the spy-fi comedy drama.

Can’t wait to see season three of Chuck (do we have a release date over here yet?) and it’s great news if we do get a fourth! It’s funny and action packed every week, and apart from Chuck my fave characters are Casey and Morgan! Wonder who the guest line up for season three will be? More Scott Backula though please!
