Abnett rocks! Anyone into sf who has not read at least the first gaunts ghosts is missin out big. Eisenhorn is top too ,darker somehow an proper hardcore. If u can get harder than the tanith! Reload an deny the enemy!

For Keven: if you want to try 40k I suggest to start at Horus Rising, the Horus Heresy series are very good.

Warhammer is easy to get into, as long as you don’t come in somewhere in the middle of an arc. Luckily many of them come in omnibus format now! My first introduction to Warhammer in any form was Abnett’s “First and Only” back when it first hit shelves. His stand-alone “Fell Cargo” was great, part of the Warhammer fantasy series. Eisenhorn trilogy is also excellent. Lots of other great authors in both the fantasy and 40K series. I think you get more satisfaction from Horus Heresy if you’re familiar with 40K first…like watching original Star Wars before the “prequels”.
Abnett also did great work with a Star Trek comic about Captain Pike, also out in omnibus I believe. Glad his health is okay! He mentioned a possible Eisenhorn-related short story project in a previous interview, which I’d be very intrigued to see someday.

@ Kevin Hall, Dan Abnett does a really good book called Horus Rising, the first the Horus Heresy Series, as well as Legion. the 40k universe is really easy to get into as well with all the different armies with there own books about them is great really

Wow, didn’t realise he had done so much! Love his work on Sinister Dexter and Kingdom, and of course Dredd! As I am a newbie to the other stuff of his, is there anyone who can suggest a place to start? And is Warhammer easy to get into?

Gald to hear The Bequin Trilogy is still on, Eisenhorn was one of the storys which re invigorated my passion for 40k, giving me new ideas and a gateway into the lives of what it is to live and die in the 40k universe.Great stuff!
