The Tardis
DOCTOR WHO
Pilot: The Doctor
First Appearance: 1963
Time machine and spacecraft, the TARDIS is the product of Time Lord technology and can transport occupants through both space and time. The Doctors might change but his trusty vehicle remains the same, an acronym of Time And Relative Dimension In Space, the TARDIS is famously larger inside than it is out and, thanks to its chameleon circuit, can blend in with its surroundings but most often takes the form of a 1950s style police box. The TARDIS might well be an impressive vehicle but it’s also an unreliable one, often leaving the Doctor to make emergency repairs to escape danger, lucky then that its defences include a force field and HADS teleportation system. No weapons can be used inside its walls and the TARDIS grants its passengers the ability to understand and speak other languages – perfect for intergalactic travel or that two-week break in Benidorm.
