Being a space smuggler is a dangerous business and it’s impossible not to upset someone sooner or later, as Captain Mal found out in ‘War Stories’. While trying to sell medical supplies half-inched from the Alliance, Mal and Wash are captured by crime lord Niska who isn’t happy at their botched train heist and dishes out the torture by means of retribution. Wash is released leaving Mal at Niska’s mercy but it isn’t long before the Serenity pilot returns with Zoë in tow to mount a bullet-laden rescue.
