Carbonite Han Solo
STAR WARS: RETURN OF THE JEDI
Year: 1983
Director: Richard Marquand
Cast: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher
It all looked a bit gloomy there for a while. Luke got his hand cut off and found out Darth Vader was his father and Han Solo got frozen in carbonite, so it’s a good thing, then, that the rebels regrouped for the stupendous Tatooine rescue which kicks off //Jedi. The battle with the Rancor, the Sarlaac, Luke walking the plank, it’s chock-full of defining moments in Lucas’s saga (and that’s without mentioning Leia’s golden desert wear). Nothing can beat the rush when John Williams’s fanfare kicks in and Luke catches his Lightsaber in midair. And people said R2 was no use.
