No list would be complete without a shout out to the wobbling wires of Jeff Tracy and International Rescue – rescuing was their job after all. They instilled the rescue profession with a sense of chivalry that the new pretenders could learn a lot from, so who could begrudge them saving one of their own when Parker rescued Lady Penelope in FAB1 after she has been trapped in a basement by the evil Dr Godber. Just don’t mention the Jonathan Frakes-directed live-action re-imagining, though.
