Much like The Sixth Sense, Alejandro Amenabar’s Open Your Eyes will sucker you completely, yet leave you wondering how you missed the abundant clues scattered throughout its running time. Alejandro Amenabar’s original is far more atmospheric than Cameron Crowe’s flashy, near-identical remake, Vanilla Sky, but with a story centred so completely on its final revelation, the journey is the same almost by necessity, and its potential to surprise remains undiminished.
