Mad Max 2
Year: 1981
Director: George Miller
Cast: Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence, Vernon Wells
“Two days ago I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker,” the leather clad Max states matter of factly. “You want to get out of here? You talk to me.” And so the scene is set for the unsurpassed chase sequence that would close the tightest and sharpest of all the Mad Max entries. Towing the tanker of gasoline out of the relative safety of the compound in full sight of Wez, The Humungus and his gang of mohawked crazies, the chase through the desert is an unrelenting blur of high-speed carnage to which the whole film is building. Simply outstanding, and unsurpassed.
