Return Of The Jedi
Year: 1983
Director: Richard Marquand
Cast: Harrison Ford, Mark Hammil, Carrie Fisher
Empire may have had that revelation, but Return Of The Jedi reigns triumphant and is the perfect conclusion to a defining trilogy. After the emotional turmoil of the darker middle instalment, Return upped the ante and ended the series on a life-affirming ‘everything’s okay now’ warm hug of a finale. Han has been rescued, Lando has blown up the Death Star, the Emperor has been defeated, even the evilest bad guy in the galaxy Darth Vader has abandoned the dark side and got in touch with his innermost feelings as he saved Luke. Not even dancing Ewoks can spoil this party!
