The ultimate infantry soldiers, the Predators are hunters with a bevy of advanced weapons and a penchant for hunting difficult game. The Predators backstory is not really covered in the first movie but was touched on more recently in Alien Vs. Predator. The movie told of a battle-based society where the skills of young Predators are honed by taking on the galaxy’s fiercest beasts. AVP revealed that the Predators had been visiting Earth for hundreds of years and were at one time worshipped as gods. Though used to hunting together, the Predators can still be extremely dangerous if isolated, as seen in the original movie when one Predator gives another supreme soldier, Alan ‘Dutch’ Schaefer, a run for his money. Refusing to kill the unarmed, ill or pregnant, the creatures do seem to follow a strict code, but if they do decide to kill, they are generally very effective in the execution.
