Doctor Who’s most famous foes are also one of the most powerful and aggressive races science fiction has ever known. Grotesque mutated organisms integrated with mechanical casing, the Daleks are bent on universal domination and their only emotion is hate. Engaging in battle with every life form they encounter the Daleks’ aim is to ‘exterminate’ races that they believe to be inferior – which unfortunately for the likes of the Doctor is everybody. Never stopping to think twice about vaporising their foes, the Daleks are the ultimate killing machine, well, unless you push them over onto their sides or run up a flight of stairs. Then again it’s been said that real Daleks don’t climb stairs; they level the building.
