Every year an accident happens on the same night on Highway 41. When Dean and Sam investigate, a woman emerges from the trees. She says that she and her husband drove into a tree when they swerved to miss a farmer on the road. When she awoke her husband had gone and the farmer reappeared as a zombie and chased her onto the road. The local farmer is Jonah Greely, who died on the highway 15 years ago, and on the anniversary of his death he punishes someone. They manage to find his bones, which they salt and burn – he vanishes in flames. Dean and Sam are forced to show Molly her husband living with a new wife in a new life. They reveal that she’d died in the crash and was haunting the highway with Greely – her body had been cremated. When they drove by and saw Molly she was unaware that she was dead so they played along. They tell her she has to accept what has happened and leave this existence. She does so and disappears in a burst of light as the sun comes up.
