SEASON 7

EPISODE 18:
APOCALYPSE
US Air Date: 01/05/2008
Writers: Turi Meyer & Al Septien
Director: Tom Welling

“You disappoint me, my son. You cannot question your destiny on this planet” Clark receives some wise words from the old man.

Clark receives another SOS from Krypton via Dr Swann’s journal, warning that Brainiac is getting closer. Chloe pushes the octagonal key into Clark’s hand and he disappears. He wakes up in the barn, just as a teenager in a Smallville High jacket walks in. He says he lives there… and he's Clark Kent. Clark tracks down Chloe, but she doesn’t recognise him.

Clark soon realises that things are very different. Lex is president, Lana lives in Paris and Lois has been arrested for stealing top-secret government info. Clark rescues Lois, and she reveals that she has a classified document revealing that Lex is putting the nation in danger. Lois sneaks Clark into a press conference (giving him a suit and a pair of glasses as a disguise), where Kara tries to attack him. Clark explains that time has been altered. Clark and Kara confront Lex but Lex shoots them with Kryptonite bullets. Brainiac arrives and prepares to shoot Clark with Lex's gun… and then speaks as Jor-El. Clark finds himself in his world. Jor-El explains that he had to show Clark what his destiny was, and tells him he must stop Brainiac. Clark finds himself back with Chloe, with only a millisecond having passed.

In 1989 on Krypton, Brainiac prepares to kill baby Kal-El. Clark arrives and Brainiac attacks him, overwhelming him since Clark is powerless without Earth's yellow sun. Kara impales Brainiac with a control crystal and holds him off while Clark puts baby Kal-El into the ship and launches it. Kara says she's destroyed Brainiac and they go back through the portal as the planet is destroyed around them.
