In the barn, Clark is shot by someone with a kryptonite taser. He tries to fight his attacker, a soldier, but more soldiers arrive and immobilise him. He later wakes up in a cage lined with kryptonite.

After receiving a wax-sealed note, Lionel meets with Patricia Swann, Dr Swann's daughter. She inherited her father's estate after his death and has gone through all of his research. Four families gathered to discuss the Traveler from another planet: the Queens, the Teagues, the Swanns, and Lionel. They formed a secret group, Veritas, to protect the Traveler, but now all except Lionel are dead. Patricia says she has proof Lionel is behind the deaths, and demands that Lionel release the Son of Krypton or she'll expose the evidence. Lionel denies her accusations and warns her that she's out of her league. He later retrieves the proof and has her killed.

Lana and Chloe find the kryptonite dart in the barn and take it to Lionel, who analyses it for them. They suspect Lionel, but he diverts suspicion to Kara and Lex as the technology belongs to a military research firm that Lex owns. The next day, Lana confirms that Lex owns the military facility – but Lionel ordered its construction. Lana and Chloe break into the facility, where they find Kara and manage to escape with her. Chloe takes Kara to the Fortress and contacts Jor-El. Chloe explains the situation and that they need Kara's memory and powers to help Clark. The Fortress comes alive and Kara is enveloped in light. She regains her memory and powers and is able to rescue Clark.
