Lana does the unthinkable and marries Lex. The nuptials are far from simple, however, as she attempts to call off the wedding after overhearing Clark reveal his real feelings for her to Chloe and discovering some of his superpowers. Her plan is wrecked when Lionel confronts her and threatens to kill Clark if she doesn’t go ahead with the ceremony. Lex meets with Lana’s doctor and a row ensues about the truth of her pregnancy – it’s hinted that she didn’t conceive naturally – which ends in Lex killing him. She feels she has no choice but to go ahead and Clark, who was waiting for her, finds her at the church exchanging vows. Lionel discovers the doctor’s body and that he is aware of the secret about Lana’s pregnancy. Lex is terrified she will leave him but Lionel says he’ll tell Lex what he wants when he’s ready. The episode ends with Lana gazing at Clark as she leaves for her honeymoon.
