Sarah is trudging through the South American jungle; she returns to camp, where a very young John is playing chess with an older soldier. In the present day, Andy, the creator of The Turk, calls Sarah and asks her to meet him at a chess tournament in which he’s entered the Turk. Sarah arrives to a convention hall full of robots. Andy shows her the new Turk – he says it’s more adaptable and less predictable than the older version. Andy tells Sarah the winner of the tournament gets a cash prize and a military contract.
Cromartie, impersonating an FBI agent, goes to Charlie Dixon’s home, looking for new information on Sarah. Charlie says that as far as he knows, Sarah blew herself up in a bank eight years ago. Charlie later admits to his wife that he saw John when he broke into the house.
At the tournament, Cameron watches the robots with interest. Sarah spots a suspicious looking man and follows him, only to find Andy’s dead body backstage. The man flees but is arrested by police. John hacks the police database and discovers he is a Resistance fighter. Sarah sneaks into the prison and the man tells her his name is Derek Reese, Kyle Reese’s brother. He insists that he did not kill Andy. Sarah and Cameron help him escape the prison, but a terminator attacks them and Derek is shot. The terminator’s hand is sheered off in its battle with Cameron, which Ellison later finds. They get Derek to Sarah’s house but realise they can’t save him. John runs off only to return with Charlie, who begins CPR. |
