While investigating a fire at a posh hotel, Mick spots his dead wife, Coraline, snapping pictures of the fire. Mick confronts her but she claims her name is Morgan. Beth arrives and it transpires that she’s known Morgan for a couple of months via work.
Morgan’s home was recently broken into, and she innocently asks Beth if Mick might be able to get her missing camera equipment back. Mick agrees to help, and suggests that the hotel’s arsonist might think Morgan captured his photo at the scene. They check the photos and find an image of the thief murdering a woman as the inferno rages around them.
In a flashback, Coraline is shown with the same tattoo as the dead woman. Mick thinks he is being set up and asks Josef to accompany him investigating a lead. Josef meets Morgan and agrees that something fishy is going on, even though Morgan is clearly human.
Morgan’s cameras are found at the home of a man who is supposed to have died three weeks ago. Mick and Morgan head to the mausoleum housing his ashes and the man shows up. They fight and Mick takes a bite out of him. Morgan runs off, screaming. Mick chases after her and starts yelling about her coming back from the dead – he tears her shirt, shouting about the tattoo, but it isn’t there.
Beth films a piece about the arsonist faking his own death and Mick has to admit he was wrong about Morgan. In the last scene, however, Morgan, alone in her room, wipes the make-up off the back of her shoulder to reveal a fleur-de-lis tattoo.
