Lapidus says he will fly three people to the ship if they can get Charlotte from Locke safe and well. Sayid, Kate and Miles go to find Locke and retrieve Charlotte; Jack doesn’t trust Locke but knows he won’t kill Kate with Sawyer there.
In a flash-forward, Sayid is playing golf in the Seychelles. He gets chatting to an Italian man and reveals he is one of the Oceanic Six. The man gets nervous, and suddenly realises their meeting was no coincidence. Sayid pulls out a gun and shoots him – he is an assassin. In Berlin he meets an economist called Elsa, possibly his next target.
Faraday has a rocket launched from the freighter as part of an experiement, and when it finally crashes down on the island there’s a 31 minute difference between his watch and the rocket’s clock. At the barracks, Sayid finds fake passports with Ben’s photo. When Sawyer and Locke show up, Sayid and Kate realise too late that they’ve walked into a trap. Sayid makes a deal with Locke and exchanges Miles for Charlotte. Kate decides to stay with Sawyer. Lapidus, Sayid and Desmond leave the island and fly out over the water.
Elsa realises who Sayid is and that her boss is his target. She shoots him but doesn’t kill him; he grabs his gun and shoots her in the chest. Wounded, Sayid returns to his employer: Benjamin Linus. Ben has another name from the list for Sayid, but Sayid warns him that the people on his list will know they’re after them now. Ben holds Sayid’s look and says, “Good.”
