Episode six sees Dan jumping back to the Eighties where he helps two brothers, Michael and Steven, out of trouble. In the first encounter, Michael was trying to set off a rocket on a fire escape; the next time Dan prevents the pair from stealing a car. Elder brother Michael is a troublemaker while Steven is incredibly intelligent, but something is obviously going to go wrong for the younger brother, as Dan realises Steven is the reason for his trips in time.

Back in 2007, Dan and Katie discuss their recent financial predicament, and Katie convinces Zack, their son, to keep shtum about McCleen’s money and his father’s time-travel abilities. When Dan returns to work, his boss wants to know why he was talking with Dr Langley and if it had anything to do with a series of bombings that occurred a few years earlier. Dan remembers some graffiti from the Eighties where he first encountered the boys, and works out that Steven may be behind the bombings.

In the year 2000, Dan accepts Lyvia’s help and successfully prevents any injuries at a petroleum plant bombing. He reunites Steven and Michael and sets Steven on a new path. Steven figures out Dan’s secret, and Dan overhears a conversation between Jack (Dan’s brother) and Katie in which Katie admits she isn’t sure she loves Dan. Dan returns to the present day to find Katie and Jack together, and the two brothers try to make peace once again. Dan catches up with Steven and is pleased to learn that his secret is safe, as the uber-intelligent Steven is convinced that time travel is definitely impossible.
