EPISODE 04:
THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT
US Air Date: 15/10/2007
Writer: Joan Binder Weiss
Director: Laura Innes

Dan wakes up in 1997, where after a brief discussion with a priest he meets a woman named Melissa, who is waiting to go on a blind date. While he is talking to the woman, her ex shows up and he and Dan get into a fight. Jumping to the present, Katie reminds Dan about a big charity dinner that she is running. Dan promises to be there, even though she knows he can’t keep it and is already on edge about Livia.
Vasser travels back to 1997, where he meets Livia briefly, and witnesses Melissa’s date William buying a gun in an alleyway. When Dan tells her about this, she passes it off as protection, since she lives in a rough neighbourhood. Meanwhile, her ex (Greg) watches from a car. In the present, Dan finds out that Greg was a cop charged with her murder, when a headache comes on and he has just enough time to scribble an apology to Katie before jumping. His brother Jack offers to escort her.
Now in 1998, Dan overhears William and Melissa arguing. When William pulls the gun out, Dan rescues her. He jumps back to the present and admits to Katie that Livia is a time traveller as well. She is understandably upset, and during Dan’s research he finds out that Melissa ends up killing William. When he jumps again, he finds Greg and tells him that she is in trouble. They arrive in time to see her shoot William, but arrange the scene so she can claim self-defence. Meanwhile, Jack and Katie share a moment that is a touch too romantic.
When Dan returns to the present, he tells Katie that Livia knows they are married. They make up, for now.
