As Peter regains his memory, this episode reveals what happened in the four-month gap between seasons one and two.
High above New York City, a radioactive Peter releases himself from his brother’s grip just before he explodes. He heals himself and takes his seriously injured brother to hospital, where Elle and Bob apprehend Peter. They take him into the care of the Company and promise to cure him of his powers. Peter meets the imprisoned Adam, who convinces him that the Company will not help him – they initially escape but the Haitian catches up with Peter, erases his memory and locks him in the storage crate.
DL Hawkins survived his gunshot wound and he, Niki and Micah start a new life together. Bob pays the medical bills and offers Niki medication to prevent a relapse of her split personality. Niki accepts the offer, but eventually stops taking the pills. A new personality named Gina manifests and heads to LA to party. DL follows her and reclaims Niki, but, in an altercation with another partier, he is shot and killed.
Alejandro Herrera has just got married, although his sister, Maya, disapproves of his new bride. Her unease proves justified when she discovers the woman cheating on Alejandro with an old boyfriend at the wedding celebration. Furious, Maya’s terrible power is activated for the first time, killing everyone at the reception except herself and Alejandro.
The episode ends in the present day, with Peter and Adam in Montreal. He tells Adam he remembers everything, to which Adam asks if they should start saving the world now. Peter smiles.
