Picking up speed like a 16-wheeler in the fast lane, Lizards drops us in with Peter who is suffering a nasty time at the hands of the Irish gangsters Ricky, Will and Tuko who suspect him of stealing their precious cargo of iPods. Matt begins investigating the vertiginous death of Mr Nakamura and starts questioning Mrs Petrelli, particularly about a symbol found on Mr Nakamura’s photograph. Across the Pacific, and not to mention a few hundred years, Hiro is struggling with life in Japan and attempts to save the honour of the greedy Englishman that is Kensei by pretending to be him and fighting in the Battle of the Twelve Swords.

The ‘Midas Man’, whose powers are fairly self explanatory, and who’s also known by the less impressive nomenclature of Bob, sends Suresh to the aid of a man suffering from a deadly virus only for this man to turn out to be Haitian. Matt continues to prove himself worthy of his promotion, saving Mrs Petrelli from an attack, and Maya and Alejandro reach Mexico where we find out that Maya’s superpower causes people to die whenever she cries. Her brother, fortunately, appears to act as an antidote of sorts for this rather cumbersome and unfortunate power.

Peter, meanwhile, saves Ricky’s sister Caitlin from McSorley, an organised crime boss discovering his former powers in the process. He then strikes up a deal with Ricky upon his return, promising he’ll help them pull of a job in return for his freedom and a box of his possessions Ricky has been concealing. Hiro is busy discovering that he can heal himself just like Claire when he is pierced by three arrows and then Claire puts her healing powers to a real, and squirm-inducing, test lopping off her little toe with a pair of scissors. However, West inadvertently witnesses her toe’s incredible regeneration.
