The last episode before the mid-season break begins in Isaac’s apartment, as Simone lies dead. Isaac shoots at Peter but he escapes and tells Nathan of her death. Nathan contacts the police about Simone’s murder but Bennet, whose memory has been wiped, arrives at the apartment with Candice before the cops. Candice reveals that she has the power of illusion, allowing her to “become” Simone, she then fools the cops into thinking Simone is alive. Claire is on the run with the Haitian but escapes when he tries to make her leave the country. She flees to Peter Petrelli’s apartment where Angela greets her, and tells her she is Claire’s grandmother and has been working with the Haitian to protect her. It is revealed that before his memory was wiped Bennet had told his wife Sandra the truth about Primatech. When he returns from Isaac’s he tells Sandra again of his plans to destroy Primatech but he is talking to Candice, who is impersonating his wife, and Thomson arrives to capture Bennet.
Elsewhere, Hiro finds the sword of Takezo Kensei in a museum and teleports he and Ando to the future. He discovers the city has still been wrecked by the bomb attack. Nathan plans to meet with Linderman but is stopped by Niki, who warns him his only choices are to kill Linderman or to go on the run. He is about to shoot Linderman but pauses when he warns him that he knows of the heroes’ powers. The episode concludes in Mohinder’s apartment. He discovers that Zane is really Sylar and drugs Sylar with poisoned chai. Mohinder uses Sylar’s spinal fluid to discover how to find other heroes but Sylar uses telekinesis to escape. Later Peter arrives at the wrecked apartment and finds Mohinder pinned to the ceiling and on the verge of death. As Mohinder whispers Sylar Peter is pinned to the wall. The episode ends with blood dripping and Peter’s screams as Sylar starts to slice at his head.
