Flash is furious about Joe’s death and wants to destroy Ming. He confronts the head monk with what Rankol told him about the prophecies: that Flash might be the person destined to bring Ming down. Flash wants the monk to make a proclamation that Flash is the One. The monk faces Flash with a test – he must earn the favours of a distant queen. The monk renders him unconscious and the next thing Flash knows, he’s wearing a thermal suit in the middle of a snow-covered mountain range. A woman named Brini arrives and offers to help Flash find the queen.

In Nascent City, Dale decides to return to Earth and tell all about Mongo. Baylin and Zarkov remain behind to search for Flash. Terek sneaks into the citadel to make a deal with Ming and reveals that the two are father and son. Terek is captured, however, and placed in the dungeon. Baylin encounters Terek, who offers to help find Flash in exchange for his freedom.

Brini and Flash are captured by Queen Freya’s regent. Flash offers to rescue the queen from the cave of the ice worm, and the regent agrees. Following a tip-off from Rankol, Baylin and Terek arrive and help Flash rescue the queen, but it transpires that the regent is in cahoots with Ming. The queen takes back rule of the land and condemns the regent.

Flash is less and less convinced that the prophecy is about him, as Rankol believes – he thinks it’s about Terek. On Earth, Jolene tells Dale that she knows something’s going on and together they tape a TV segment about Mongo.
