“No shooting! No shooting! I’m susceptible to bullets!” Chuck points out the obvious
Set over Thanksgiving and Black Friday, this episode reveals Bryce, Chuck’s old friend and nemesis who, despite what we have been led to believe, is alive. When he regains consciousness, Chuck is the only person he’ll talk to. Bryce is brought into the interrogation room by team Intersect, and to convince the sceptical Bryce of his identity, Chuck talks to him in Klingon, despite his protestations about how ‘rusty’ he is. Later at Ellie’s thanksgiving dinner, tension abounds as Anna fails to hide her jealousy of the looks Morgan shoots at Ellie, coupled with his almost theatrical enjoyment of her food. The green-eyed monster doesn’t spare Chuck either, as he secretly looks on at Bryce (who was not on the guest list) and Sarah kissing in his bedroom, after Bryce claims that a rogue CIA faction is after the Intersect. Chuck passes on this information to Casey in coded form for him to check out, but Bryce manages to slip away. When Chuck eventually catches up to Bryce, we find that he is actually genuine in his intentions, and wants to turn himself in to the CIA with Chuck’s help. Soon after the transfer, Chuck is held up by Tommy at the Buy More store. Tommy is eventually taken down, thanks in part to the inspired use of the code word ‘pineapple’.
The episode ends with Sarah facing a choice between Bryce and Chuck.
